Settlement and Integration Support Program

Helping You Navigate Life in Canada with Confidence and Dignity

At Hope for Refugees International, we understand that arriving in a new country can be overwhelming. Refugees and newcomers often face urgent and complex challenges—including finding housing, accessing essential services, navigating unfamiliar systems, and building stability. Our Settlement and Integration Support Program provides personalized, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive support to help refugees and newcomers successfully settle, integrate, and thrive in Canada.

Housing and Emergency Shelter Support Initiative

A central pillar of this program is our Housing and Emergency Shelter Support Initiative, which assists refugees and newcomers in navigating emergency shelters, transitional housing, and long-term housing options.

We provide guidance on:

  • Accessing services such as Central Intake and the Toronto Streets to Homes Assessment and Referral Centre (SHARC),
  • Accompany clients to housing appointments when needed, and
  • provide practical assistance such as TTC tickets, phone access,
  • Referrals to shelters, transitional housing programs, and affordable housing opportunities.

For survivors of gender-based violence, we also facilitate access to specialized emergency shelters and crisis response services.

Comprehensive system navigation and case management support

Beyond housing, we provide comprehensive system navigation and case management support. Our team helps clients access government income supports such as;

  • Ontario Works
  • ODSP
  • Childcare benefits
  • Housing stabilization programs.

We also support clients in navigating Service Canada, Service Ontario, employment services, food security programs, healthcare systems, and educational supports. Our peer navigators and volunteers provide culturally sensitive guidance, interpretation support when possible, and referrals to trusted partner organizations.

Our goal

Our goal is to ensure that refugees and newcomers are not left to navigate these systems alone. Through individualized case management, referrals, and practical support, we empower our community members to build stability, access essential services, and establish a strong foundation for their future in Canada.

If you need support with housing, settlement services, or system navigation, we are here to help.
