Supporting Healing, Wellness, and Community Connection
Supporting Healing, Wellness, and Community Connection
Refugees and newcomers often carry the emotional and psychological impacts of displacement, trauma, and isolation. Our Health, Mental Health, and Wellness Program provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed support to promote healing, resilience, and overall well-being.
Mental Health SupportÂ
We offer mental health support through:
- Peer support groupsÂ
- Wellness workshops
- counseling referrals, andÂ
- Healing activities rooted in Afrocentric and culturally grounded practices such as storytelling, art therapy, drumming, and community healing circles.Â
These activities create safe spaces for individuals to process trauma, build resilience, and develop meaningful social connections.
Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV prevention
The program also promotes sexual and reproductive health and HIV prevention through;
- Education,Â
- Awareness workshops, andÂ
- Referrals to healthcare providers.Â
- Distribution of prevention suppliesÂ
- Connecting community members to testing, treatment, and care services through trusted health partners.
Our holistic approach ensures that refugees and newcomers have access to the support they need to rebuild their emotional well-being and live healthy, empowered lives.
