Session Overview

Hope for Refugees International recognizes the crucial importance of the refugee hearing process for individuals seeking asylum in Canada. As part of our commitment to supporting refugees, we invite you to join our upcoming session, “Gathering Your Evidence and Preparing for Your Refugee Hearing.” This session aims to provide valuable insights, guidance, and support to refugee claimants navigating the critical process of a refugee hearing.

Background

Canada annually receives a significant number of refugees seeking asylum. In 2022, 140,621 refugees were granted asylum, reflecting an 8.07% increase from the previous year. The refugee hearing with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) is a pivotal moment in a refugee claimant’s journey, determining their status and future in Canada. Failing this hearing poses the risk of deportation and potential persecution in their country of origin.

Session Objective

• Preparation Strategies: Gain knowledge on effective strategies to prepare for your refugee hearing in advance.
