In 2022\, 140\,621 refugees were granted asylum\, reflecting an 8.07% increase from the previous year. The refugee hearing with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) is a pivotal moment in a refugee claimant’s journey\, determining their status and future in Canada.
